• Wem: (who/whom) people in the dative case.
• Wem hast du das Buch gegeben? (Whom did you give the book?)
• Wessen: (whose) people in the genitive case.
• Wessen Tasche ist das? (Whose bag is that?)
• Was: (what) things in all of the cases.
• Was ist das? (What is that?)
• Was hast du gegessen? (What did you eat?)

Was für ein: what kind of...? E.g:
Was für ein Auto fährst du? (What kind of car do you drive?)
Was für eins fährst du? (What kind do you drive?)

Welcher: which? or which one? E.g:
Welchen fährst du? (Which one do you drive?)
